Need help with bug control?

Can anyone recommend a good bug-zapper. We have a problem with flies and also mosquitos at night, especially around the pool. We haven't been able to stay out at the pool after dark because of the mosquitos. I heard that the bug zappers that run off electricity work but there are so many to choose from. Need one that works good, covers a large area and is not too expensive.Need help with bug control?
There is a product called Mosquito Magnet. I have seen it in 2 or 3 yards of people I work for. They seem to be fairly effective. I have a smaller zapper that works fine for up to 1 acre. The Magnet costs anywhere from $300 to $600. My unit cost $30. I couldn't tell you if the bigger unit worked any better and that's a lot of difference in money. I would probably just get a couple of smaller units and place them on opposite ends of the property away from where you will be. The magnet also requires you use a lure which is additional money spent.Need help with bug control?
Citronella candle lamps and plants are what most people use. Zappers are alright but are unsightly and cost money to use. If you have lighting around it switch to yellow colored bulbs.
Don't know if getting a bug zapper is the answer. What will happen is you'll plug in the zapper at night. The light will come on. Now, you're attracting bugs and other insects to your property to buzz around you and annoy you.

Could the pool be the cause of the bugs? Wouldn't think so because there are many chemicals that are added so that things like ph levels are right among other things.

Just make sure that if you ARE going to get a bug zapper, put it on the furthest corner of your lawn on a fence possibly. Works well especially if there's a neighbor you don't like so much. All the zapping with annoy them and bring the bugs to their area. BUT, the bugs are out of YOUR area.

Could there be any other water that might be around your that the bugs might be coming from? If so there's a product called the mosquito dunk you can just put a couple into any water that is unactive (ponds or things like that) and it will sterilize any future problems.

Other than that, in about a month....or sooner, go to your local hardware store and get a product called I think Bug B Gone. Its made by Ortho and you just put it into a spreader and apply it to your whole lawn. So, the intent of this is to not only knock out possible problems with moquitos but other bugs that might come from the lawn. The product I'm referring to also comes in a spray you can attatch to your hose and spray your entire lawn.
