Will pest control really kills water bugs or roaches?

I have lots of big roaches and water bugs and im wondering if pest control would actually kill water bugs? Is it expensive? What else can diminish water bugs? help please! they freak me out so much! Will pest control really kills water bugs or roaches?
A good professional exterminator can get rid of any bug problem. For problems like water bugs and large roaches you will need to be on a regular service plan. These critters tend to be a neighborhood problem. They live and breed outdoors, in sewers, tree hollows, wood piles etc. and come indoors to find sheltered places to lay their eggs. A regular service should cost in the $30 to $40 a month range, with an initial fee of around $100. Make sure to hire a reputable company. Talk to some neighbors and see who they have used. Make sure to read he entire contract before you sign it. Most companies provide a warranty and will perform extra services for free when needed. Will pest control really kills water bugs or roaches?
We use some stuff from Zep Mfg. (look in the phone book) that works really well. You spray around the baseboards , in closets, behind stove, frig etc. It lasts quite a while then if you start seeing them again; spray again (this is what the pest control does anyhow) it is also an immediate killer if you spray it on them (BTW so is Bam, the cleaning product) Bugs walk thru the Zep stuff and clean themselves and die.A product at Wal Mart espcially for the outside of the house (Ask there)for every one you see, 10 are hidden.
